Every Phase of New Construction Plumbing
New construction plumbing happens in stages that align with the building schedule. Each phase has its own inspection requirements and coordination needs. Getting the sequence right keeps the project on schedule and prevents costly rework.
We work with residential and light commercial builders throughout Clark County, Floyd County, and the greater Louisville metro. Our Indiana Master Plumber license covers the full scope from sewer connection to final fixture trim-out. We pull permits, schedule inspections, and show up on time so we’re never the reason the project falls behind.
Construction Phases We Handle
Underground and Underslab Rough-In
Drain lines and sometimes water lines are installed below the slab before the foundation is poured. This is the most critical phase because once concrete is poured, changes are extremely expensive. We handle excavation in-house.
Urgency: Coordinate before the foundation pour.
Top-Out Rough-In
Supply, drain, and vent lines installed inside the walls after framing and before insulation and drywall. This sets the location for every fixture in the house.
Urgency: Schedule after the framing inspection passes.
Fixture Trim-Out
Installing faucets, toilets, sinks, showers, garbage disposals, and connecting dishwashers and other appliances after drywall, paint, and tile are complete.
Urgency: Schedule after interior finishes are done.
Water Heater Installation
Sewer and Water Main Connection
Running the sewer lateral to the city main and the water service line from the meter. Includes trenching, pipe installation, connection to public infrastructure, and inspection coordination.
Urgency: Coordinate early in the project timeline.
Testing and Inspections
Pressure testing supply lines, flood testing drain lines, and scheduling inspections at each phase. We handle inspector coordination and address any findings immediately so the project stays on schedule.
Urgency: Required at each phase before work is covered up.

What New Construction Plumbing Includes
We start by reviewing building plans, the fixture schedule, and appliance specifications. We provide a detailed scope and bid covering all plumbing phases, including materials, labor, permits, and inspections.
During construction, we install underslab rough-in before the slab pour, top-out after framing, and return for trim-out after finishes. We pressure test and flood test at each phase, coordinate inspections, and address any findings on the spot.
At trim-out, we install all fixtures, connect appliances, install the water heater, and do a final walkthrough with the builder and homeowner. Every fixture is tested, every connection checked, and the home is ready for occupancy.

When should I bring in the plumber for a new build?
During the planning phase, before permits are pulled. We can advise on fixture placement, pipe routing, and system sizing before construction begins.
Do you work with general contractors?
Yes. We work with builders and GCs across Southern Indiana on residential and commercial projects. We coordinate scheduling and communicate at every phase.
Do you handle the sewer connection?
Yes. We install the sewer lateral from the building to the city main, including excavation, pipe installation, and inspection coordination.
What about additions and ADUs?
Yes. Home additions, garage apartments, ADUs, and detached structures that need plumbing. We extend or create new systems as needed.
Can you help plan the plumbing layout?
Yes. We review plans and suggest efficient fixture placement and pipe routing. Getting the layout right during planning prevents costly changes during construction.
